Welcome to the Department of Chemistry, College of Science, Imam Mohammad ibn Saud Islamic University.

Chemistry is a fundamental science, interconnected and intertwined with all other branches of science. It plays a significant role in many aspects of life and scientific progress, offering innovative solutions to the diverse problems facing the world in areas such as the environment, industry, health, and food.

The department includes a selected group of distinguished faculty members, both academically and research-wise, who are graduates of the world's most prestigious universities. The Department of Chemistry offers students excellent opportunities to acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills, explore their latent potential, and effectively utilize it, thereby contributing to the development of our beloved nation and fulfilling the department's, college's, and university's mission.

The department offers three academic programs:

1. Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, which began in the first semester of the academic year 1432-1433 AH (2011-2012).  Many students have graduated from both the male and female branches.
2. Bachelor of Science in Chemical Laboratories, which began in the academic year 1446-1447 AH (2025-2026).
3. Master of Science in Chemistry Program (Organic Chemistry Track, Physical Chemistry Track, Inorganic Chemistry Track, and Analytical Chemistry Track). The second semester began in 1445 AH (2023-2024).

The department is working to update and develop its academic programs, aligning with the Kingdom's aspirations for leadership in education and scientific research, meeting the needs of the labor market, staying current with the latest developments, and contributing to the establishment of a distinguished knowledge-based economy.
