The Vice-Deanship of the College of Science for Development and Quality, under the supervision of Dr. Abeer Al-Nahdi, Assistant Vice-Dean of the College of Science for Development and Quality, organized a training Workshop on Thursday, 06/29/1437 AH, corresponding to 04/07/2016 AD, in the College of Science, Building 323, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The Workshop was delivered by Dr. Amani Al-Tawili (an assessment evaluator certified by the European Foundation for Quality Management EFQM), Assistant Professor in the College of Fundamentals of Religion. The Workshop was attended by Dr. Kholoud Al-Tamimi, Vice-Dean of Quality and Assessment, and a number of the Vice-Deanship staff.
It is worth mentioning that the training Workshop was held in collaboration with the Deanship of Quality and Assessment as part of their cooperation to establish and disseminate the concept of quality among female faculty members. This Workshop is considered a basic workshop to introduce quality in higher education. The Workshop was attended by a number of female faculty members from various female colleges of Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University. In addition, it is the first training Workshop organized by the Vice-Deanship of the College of Science for Development and Quality (Female Section), which targets female faculty members from various colleges of the University.
Among the main topics of the Workshop:
(First Session) Quality in Higher Education Institutions: Included the definition of quality assurance and its objectives and requirements.
(Second Session) Quality Standards in Higher Education: Included the concept of quality standards and their importance, as well as the standard of learning and teaching with focus on the quality of teaching.
(Third Session) Academic Accreditation: Included the definition of academic accreditation and its importance and objectives. It also illustrated the types of academic accreditation and the steps involved to obtain it.
The Workshop included a number of effective activities with excitement and interaction among the attending faculty members.
At the end of the Workshop, Dr. Abeer Al-Nahdi thanked Dr. Amani Al-Tawili for the interesting and successful Workshop. Then, they handed the attendees their attendance certificates.
In conclusion, Dr. Abeer Al-Nahdi, Assistant Vice-Dean of the College of Science for Development and Quality, thanked all contributors to the success and organization of the session, especially Dr. Kholoud Al-Balawi, Vice-Dean of the College, Dr. Raed Al-Hathlool, Vice-Dean of the College for Development and Quality, and Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Babtain, Dean of the College, for their support and help.
