The Department of Physics (Female Section) Continues the Academic Seminars Series with a Seminar by Dr. Najla’ Abdul`aal

The Physics Department (Female Section) organized the 3th Seminar during the second semester of this academic year 1436/1437 AH, entitled:

"Negative Thermal Expansion (NTE)."

Dr. Najla Abdulaal presented the Seminar on Tuesday, 06/20/1437 AH, corresponding to 03/29/2016 AD, at 09:15 a.m., for half an hour. It was followed by questions and discussions from the attendees.

Dr. Abdulaal began the Seminar by giving an idea about the concept of negative thermal expansion (NTE). She also addressed crystalline materials that are prone to contraction with a negative coefficient of thermal expansion at defined temperatures. Faculty members and students of the Department were involved in the discussion regarding several points, including applied research about new compound crystalline materials with thermal expansion coefficients equal to zero or a defined value in order to meet the required needs of science.

This Seminar falls within a series of seminars held by the Physics Department and presented by faculty members in the Department and researchers from other research sectors. They aim at motivating the scientific research environment in the Department and informing its members of the latest advances in physical sciences in various fields.

It is noteworthy to mention that attending these seminars is open to all University members, including faculty and staff members and students.

With regards,

The Department of Physics
