​في إطار النشاط العلمي والبحثي لقسم الرياضيات والإحصاء بكلية العلوم، أقام القسم ندوة علمية (سمنار) بعنوان:

Progressive Type-II Censoring Schemes of Extended Odd Weibull Exponential Distribution with Applications in Medicine and Engineering

قدّمها سعادة الأستاذ الدكتور أ.د. هشام المنجي، وذلك صباح اليوم الأربعاء الموافق 19/11/2025 م في تمام الساعة 8:00 صباحاً بقاعة 2-079B بالكلية.

وقد تناولت الندوة العلمية:

In this paper, the parameters of the extended odd Weibull exponential distribution are estimated under a progressive type-II censoring scheme with random removal. The model parameters are estimated using the maximum product spacing and maximum likelihood estimation methods. Further, we explore the asymptotic confidence intervals and bootstrap confidence intervals for the model parameters. Monte Carlo simulations are performed to compare between the proposed estimation methods under the progressive type-II censoring scheme. An empirical study using two real datasets from engineering and medicine fields is conducted to validate the introduced methods of inference. Based on our study, we can conclude that the maximum product spacing method outperforms the maximum likelihood method for estimating the extended odd Weibull exponential (EOWE) parameters under a progressive type-II censoring scheme in both numerical and empirical cases.

حيث استعرض الدكتور أبرز المحاور والنتائج ذات الصلة بالموضوع مقدماً طرحاً علمياً قيّماً أثار نقاشاً مثمراً بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس​ والطلاب الحاضرين.

وتأتي هذه الندوة ضمن سلسلة الأنشطة العلمية التي يحرص قسم الرياضيات والإحصاء على تنظيمها بشكل دوري وذلك في إطار تعزيز النشاط البحثي والأكاديمي بالقسم وحرصاً على إتاحة الفرصة للتفاعل العلمي وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين وطلاب الدراسات العليا بالقسم.
