1. The applicant must be a faculty member at the university, and must be a PhD holder and working at the time of application
2. The research must not have received funding from the university or any other funding agency.
3. In cases where two or more researchers collaborate on a single research paper, the financial reward will be granted to only one internal university researcher. The priority for support applications will be determined as follow: the first author (the researcher whose name appears first in the list of authors, whether affiliated with the university or not), followed by the corresponding author. Other authors, regardless of their order, are not eligible to apply for support.
4. The program does not support papers with more than two (2) corresponding authors.
5. Publication Requirements:
   
   (a) The submitted paper must be an original research article or a review article published in journals indexed in the Web of Science and ranked within the Top 10% according to the Journal Citation Reports (JCR Category) that assign the Journal Impact Factor (JIF). For applicants from non-applied colleges, papers published in journals indexed in Scopus and ranked within the Top 10%​. No other ranking indicators from either database will be considered.
   
   (b) The recognized ranking of the journal will be the latest available at the date of publication of the paper, and if the journal is classified under more than one category, the average ranking will be used.
   
   (c) For researchers from applied colleges, the paper must include an international co-author with an h-index of at least 30 according to the Web of Science.
   
   (d) For researchers from non-applied colleges, the paper must include an international co-author.
   
   (e) The same international co-author must not appear in more than eight (8) research papers in one calendar year with the applicant or any other university researchers benefiting from this program.
   
   (f) All authors from within the university, including the applicant, must list Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) as their sole affiliation. The international co-author can hold dual affiliations, but not exceeding two in total.
   
   (g) The percentage of authors affiliated with Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University must not be less than 20% of the total authors on the research paper.
6. The internal researcher shall be financially treated as the principal investigator, while the international researcher shall be treated as a co-investigator.
7. The support provided under this program is incentive-based and subject to the university's discretion; it does not establish any rights or claims for the beneficiaries.
8. ​Ownership of scientific discoveries or inventions resulting from the funded paper is subject to Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University's Intellectual Property Policy.
9. Authors affiliated with the university must use the following format for institutional affiliation: Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU)​
10. No more than three (3) papers may be published in the same journal, except for journals ranked within the Top 5%, which are exempted from this rule.
11. The corresponding author, if affiliated with the university, must use the official university email address in all correspondence related to the publication.
12. The funding statement section must indicate the program's support in the following specific format:
    This work was supported and funded by the Deanship of Scientific Research at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) (grant number IMSIU-DDRSP-RP25).

The Deanship of Scientific Research reserves the right to modify the wording or grant number when necessary.​
