The UNESCO Chair for Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue is a scientific chair that works within the system of research chair programs at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University. It is based on a strategic vision for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia adopted by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz. It is a vision that establishes a positive life approach that aims to establish coexistence. Peaceful among followers of religions and cultures.
The chair aims to conduct scientific research on issues related to dialogue between followers of religions and cultures, and to qualify distinguished scientific cadres who can participate effectively in the dialogue of cultures, contribute a positive role in bringing societies together, and spread the culture of dialogue by relying on a group of means, including: holding seminars and conferences. The dimension of dialogue with others, publishing research and studies that address issues of dialogue, and providing an opportunity for scholars and intellectuals through it to contribute to finding solutions to the problems that the world suffers from.
