Bio

Syed Muhammad Fakhir Hasani is an Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University (IMSIU) since 2010. His research interests include Computational modeling of combined mode heat transfer mechanisms, fluid transport and membrane desalination processes. Prior to joining IMSIU, he served as a Foreign Professor at NED University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan. He also worked for Trax Corporation (Virginia), and ABB Inc. (Ohio) in the USA where he was involved in the modeling, development and dynamic testing of high fidelity power plant simulators for operator training applications. Dr. Hasani has to his credit approximately 27 research publications in peer reviewed journals and proceedings of international conferences. Twice he received distinguished researcher award from the Deanship of Academic Research at IMSIU.

·         Served as Chair or Member on several College and Department committees at IMSIU between 2010 and 2019. The most important among these are Research Committee, Academic Planning and Curriculum Development Committee, Engineering Training Committee, Graduation Projects Committee, Faculty hiring and Program Development Committee

·         Served as Mechanical Engineering Department Chair (2006-2010) and Secretary of Advanced Studies and Research Board (2005-2010) at the NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi, Pakistan


 

Honors & Awards

·         Recipient of Distinguished Researcher award and honorarium from the Deanship of Academic Research, Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in the year 2012.

·         Recipient of Distinguished Researcher award and honorarium from the Deanship of Academic Research, Al Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in the year 2013.
