Department of Translation
The Department of Translation was structured in accordance with the strategic plan of the Institute, which is a standardized framework that regulates the tasks of the Institute with regards to planning, implementation and development. The vision of the Department was accordingly formed: the Institute shall excel in providing translation in such a highly professional way that fosters the sublimity of the Kingdom and the Arabic Islamic culture. Hence, the Institute provides a convenient environment conducive to preparing distinguished male and female translators and boosting their professional caliber and skills.
Tasks
- To produce highly professional and academic translations for all stakeholders and beneficiaries.
- To build up a large database of all thematic terminologies and nomenclature.
- To boost the efficiency of male and female translators.
- To provide a full coverage of translation services in conferences, and specialized and public forums.
- To create a database of translators and interpreters in the Saudi market and recruit the best of them.
- To professionally manage translation projects and setup the necessary steps to achieve that.
Units
Written Translation Unit
This unit undertakes the translation of documents, contracts, reports, abstracts and résumés (CVs), and carries out proofreading, editing, reviewing and formatting, in addition to devising thematic glossaries for each type subject domain.
Revision & Review Section
This section examines the target language content against the source language content as well as the target language content for its suitability for the agreed purpose.
Interpretation Unit
This unit provides interpretation services for conferences, seminars and academic forums in various fields.
