The faculty of social sciences in the educational building organized 325 awareness programs entitled "the dangers of smoking" to reduce the spread of smoking among female students in cooperation with the anti-smoking charity "purity" in the presence of faculty members and university students.
The program included the presentation of the causes and effects of smoking on the health of the individual, especially women, where smoking is the first cause of lung cancer by 70%, and various heart disease.
The program's organizers addressed the definition of female students and visitors the most prominent ways to quit smoking through prayer, prayer, exercise and self-employment to the benefit of them, through the distribution of documentary leaflets on the harms of smoking and its implications for the health of society. It is worth mentioning that the association "purity" offers many awareness lectures and mobile clinics, in addition to organizing field visits to schools, universities and government and private organizations, as well as offering recreational programs on summer vacations where it combines the spread of a culture of anti-smoking and pleasure aimed at hosting recreational and singing teams.

The university has made significant strides in promoting public health through the implementation of a strict anti-smoking policy, in accordance with decision 3624-1441/1442. This policy bans smoking on campus, raising health awareness and fostering a healthier environment for students and staff.
Article One: Objectives of the Regulation
These regulations aim to protect university members from the dangers of smoking of all kinds and to achieve a healthy educational environment free of smoking by establishing effective controls to combat it.
Article Two: Definitions
The following terms, wherever they appear in these regulations, shall have the meanings indicated opposite them unless the context requires another meaning:
The University: Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University with all its administrative and educational units, branches, institutes, facilities, and private means of transportation.
The Committee: The Permanent Committee for Combating Smoking at the University.
Smoking: The use of tobacco and its derivatives or what is considered to be similar in any way, such as the use of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, jarak, tobacco, mu'assel, electronic mu'assel, pipe tobacco, chewing tobacco, storage, snuff, sweika, snuff, timbal, or any other means in which raw or manufactured tobacco or any of their derivatives are included in its composition.
Transportation: All transportation means affiliated with the university or transportation contractors linked to a contractual relationship with the university, whether inside or outside the university.
University members: All male and female employees and students.
Article Three: Scope of application
The provisions of these regulations apply to all university members, both male and female students, and all branches, units and institutes affiliated with the university and public transportation.
Article Four: The following is prohibited in the university:
Smoking in any form.
Advertising, promoting or advertising smoking in all visual, written or audio media, and in the university's various programs and activities.
Sale of all products used in smoking in all their forms and images.
Placing logos related to smoking and its derivatives, whether printed, displayed, hung, traded or worn.
Article Five: Anti-Smoking Committee
A permanent anti-smoking committee shall be formed by virtue of these regulations, by a decision of the university president, headed by the university vice president for educational affairs, and with the membership of a representative from each of the following entities:
Deanship of Student Affairs
Deanship of Human Resources
General Administration of Legal Affairs
Representatives from the General Administration of Security and Safety Men's Security Women's Security
General Administration of Media and Communication
Two faculty members selected by the university president
Secretary of the Committee
University Agency for Female Students
The committee may seek assistance from whomever it needs in its work.
Article Six: Competencies of the Anti-Smoking Committee
The committee shall be responsible for the following:
Drawing objectives and policies to combat and reduce smoking.
Preparing studies and statistics related to the phenomenon of smoking and submitting recommendations that lead to combating smoking.
Communicating with governmental and civil bodies and associations in the field of awareness of the harms of smoking and proposing the conclusion of memoranda of understanding and agreements and submitting them to the competent authority.
Establishing awareness programs on the harms of smoking at the university.
Coordinating with medical clinics to combat smoking.
Deciding on grievances submitted against penalties issued under the provisions of these regulations and establishing a procedure for them.
Reviewing the regulations and submitting a recommendation to amend them whenever necessary.
Submitting an annual report to the President of the University that includes the work and activities of the committee.
Article Seven: Controlling and investigating violations
The General Administration of University Safety and Security, and whoever is assigned the task of control by a decision from the competent authority, shall impose the penalties stipulated in paragraph (1) of Article Four without the need to take prior measures.
The penalty for violating paragraphs (2) (3) (4) of Article Four shall be imposed after conducting an investigation in accordance with the procedures stipulated in the investigation according to the disciplinary system to which the perpetrator of the violation is subject, and the control officer shall prepare a report on the incident for any person who committed any of the violations stipulated in these regulations, with all evidence and proofs secured.
Article Eight: Penalties
Without prejudice to the penalties stipulated in the Job Discipline System, the Work System, the Student Discipline Regulations, and any more severe penalty in another system:
Anyone who smokes in violation of the provisions of paragraph (1) of Article Four of these regulations shall be punished with a fine of 200 two hundred riyals.
Anyone who commits any violation of paragraphs (2) (3) (4) of Article Four of these regulations shall be punished with a fine not exceeding 5,000 five thousand riyals, and the penalty shall be doubled in the event of recidivism.
Article Nine: Grievance
Anyone against whom a penalty stipulated in these regulations has been issued may file a grievance before the Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Combating Smoking at the University within 60 days from the date of imposing the penalty.
The Chairman of the Committee shall submit the grievance to the Committee within a period not exceeding 15 days from the date of its submission to adjudicate it and take a decision regarding it.
The Committee's decision to accept or reject the grievance shall be final after the President of the University approves the Committee's minutes.

In an effort to enhance the public's awareness of the harmful effects of smoking, Office of Preparatory Programs at College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Al-Ehsa, attributing to Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, has arranged lastly an awareness symposium entitled "What You Don't Know About Smoking".
The Symposium, which was organized in tandem with Naqqa, Charity Association for Anti-Smoking, has focused on the reasons caused harmful diseases, and to what extent family and community could help largely in stopping smoking.

Lecturing by Mrs. Hassah Ad-Dowsery, Head of Public Relations at National Committee for Tobacco Control from Ministry of Health, the course was focused on training attendance, from female security members, about anti-smoking regulation and implementation mechanism and the procedures adhered to violating female student for smoking inside the university campus. She enlightened them that, they have to fine the female students for 200 SR through a special electronic application reporting to Ministry of Health.

This meeting aims to raise health and educational awareness about the harms of smoking to the health of the individual and society, and the severe damage caused by smoking in all its forms and types, and to raise awareness of its dangers and the resulting diseases and their impact on human health, may God protect us and you from all harm.
The meeting began with Ms. Ashwaq Al-Ahmadi (Awareness and Exhibition Officer at Naqa Anti-Smoking Society) and Mr. Abdul Rahman Khairo (Awareness and Exhibition Officer at Naqa Anti-Smoking Society) by introducing the concept of smoking among social psychologists and the marketing plot, and the dangers of smoking on women's health, and they also spoke On the extent of the effect of smoking on pregnant women and the effects of smoking on the human body such as the skin, mouth, teeth, eyes, and the voice as well, and they indicated that smoking is one of the most important factors inducing and causing breast cancer, then they went on to talk about the harms of smoking and the diseases resulting from it and its great impact on the health of the individual, and methods of prevention. And the treatment of it, God willing, then he talked about the factors or reasons for returning to smoking after quitting. At the end of the meeting, questions and inquiries from the students were answered, and participation certificates were distributed to the students by sending them to the e-mail.

Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University launched a campaign to raise awareness of the harms of drugs and their prevention, represented by the College of Social Sciences, where it presented the "Waai" initiative, which aims to (eliminate the scourge of drugs and psychotropic substances), in interaction with the security campaign "Lookout", which enjoys the follow-up and supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Chairman of the National Committee for Drug Control.
This comes in support of the efforts of the anti-drug men, which have put in place to protect our youth and the youth of the Islamic Ummah from this dangerous and destructive disease, by applying severe penalties to all drug promoters, smugglers and users, to protect the capabilities of the homeland, and to eliminate the sources of this scourge.
Within the framework of activating the college's participation in the "AWY" initiative, many virtual and in-person seminars were organized in various faculties of the university, entitled "Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances", under the patronage and blessing of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Ameri.
The Waai initiative aimed to achieve positive change in the personal and social behavior and behavior of individuals, encourage them to commit to a healthy and responsible lifestyle, and build strong social networks that support them in achieving their goals and developing their abilities and skills.
Which targeted university employees (students, faculty members and employees), where it dealt with talking about the phenomenon of drugs, types of psychotropic substances and their impact on the individual and society, behaviors of the addict, personalities exposed to addiction or abuse, prevention methods, treatment steps, family responsibility in dealing with the addict, and highlighting the efforts made by the security campaign to combat drugs implemented by security men, may God protect them.
In conclusion, the prevention of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances is a shared responsibility and requires collective efforts from all members of society. To achieve this goal, awareness and education about the dangers of drugs and the factors leading to their use must be promoted, and support and assistance must be provided to individuals at risk.

The Vice Presidency for Female Student Affairs, represented by the Department of Administrative Affairs, in cooperation with the College of Social Sciences, organized a seminar entitled (The Role of Values in Drug Fight and Prevention) as part of the campaign with our values we rise and rise, which was held on Wednesday morning, 11 Dhu al-Qa'dah for the academic year 1444 AH in the Great Hall of the Conference Building in King Abdullah Female Student City, in the presence of Her Excellency the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Prof. Nouf bint Abdul Ali Al-Ajmi, and a number of university vice presidents, employees and students.
