Coinciding with the World Mental Health Day, His Excellency the President of Imam Muhammad bin Saud University, Prof. Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al-Ameri, inaugurated on Tuesday 10/10/2023 AD, a work-life balance initiative in the presence of the Vice President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mansour bin Abdul Rahman Al-Haidari, the General Supervisor of the General Administration of Human Resources, Prof. Dr. Khalid bin Abdul Karim Al-Basir, the Ambassador of Mental Health at the University, Dr. Moataz bin Theeb Al-Otaibi, the Director of the Scholarship and Training Department, Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Mansour, and the Director of the Members Club Teaching, employees and retirees, Mr. Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bargan, Director of the Social Support Unit, Mr. Ali bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, and the participating team in cooperation with the National Center for Mental Health.

The Vice President of Al-Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University for Educational Affairs, Prof. Dr. Fahd bin Saleh Al-Luhaidan, sponsored the event (World Mental Health Day Forum), which was organized by the Department of Psychology at the College of Social Sciences during the period from 1-1445/4/2 AH, in Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Tuwaijri Hall in the Conference Building, on the occasion of the World Mental Health Day, and the forum included a number of lectures, workshops and discussion sessions, and the opening of the accompanying exhibition.
The Dean of the College of Social Sciences, Dr. Faisal bin Muhammad Al-Muhareb, welcomed the honorable attendees of the forum's activities, and thanked the Department of Psychology for organizing these wonderful events that aim to spread the correct psychological culture and support mental health, pointing out that mental health is an essential element and an integral part of our lives, as it represents an important basis for our personal well-being and happiness, and he recalled that the World Mental Health Day is an annual occasion celebrated by communities around the world on the tenth of October of each year with the aim of Increase awareness of mental health issues and enhance support for individuals with mental disorders and work to reduce the stigma associated with these disorders.
Dr. Al-Muhareb added that World Mental Health Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and its impact on the lives of individuals and communities, and provides an opportunity to educate people about various mental illnesses and how to deal with them and search for appropriate help, leading to reducing stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness and encouraging communities to empathize and support individuals who suffer from them, as well as promoting mental health care and providing the necessary support and resources for individuals who need psychological treatment.
The Dean of the College of Social Sciences indicated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays great attention to the World Mental Health Day and promoting awareness of it in society and at the national level, as the Kingdom has witnessed a remarkable development in the field of mental health in recent years, as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has taken several measures to promote mental health and support individuals with mental health problems. The mental healthcare infrastructure in the Kingdom has been developed, including the provision of health facilities, psychiatric clinics and specialized hospitals. Training and qualification of mental health cadres to provide professional and specialized services has also been strengthened, in addition to implementing awareness and educational campaigns targeting the community in general, with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of mental health and reducing the stigma associated with it. Events, awareness lectures and workshops have been organized to enhance knowledge and understanding about mental health, and the Saudi government is also adopting national policies and plans to promote mental health and improve health care in this area, paying special attention to vulnerable and needy groups such as children, adolescents, the elderly and people with special needs, and working to provide them with appropriate support and care.
For his part, the Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Ibrahim bin Qassim Hakami, explained that the World Health Organization celebrates this year under the slogan (mental health is a universal human right), as the results of studies and statistics indicated that one in eight people globally suffer from mental health disorders, and out of every four people suffering from these disorders, three people receive inadequate treatments - or no care at all, and many of them face stigma And discrimination and social character that may prevent them from completing treatment or follow-up to achieve psychological balance and get rid of the magnitude of these problems and disorders.
Dr. Hakami stated that mental health is an integral part of public health, and physical health is not complete without a high level of mental health, which includes: psychological and emotional peace, achieving social balance, and affecting the way of thinking, feeling, working, and communicating with others. It also helps determine how to deal with stress and make informed decisions.

Sports activities
The Sports Affairs Department, under the Deanship of Student Affairs, manages the university's sports facilities and organizes athletic programs. Its goals include providing facility access, promoting physical fitness, and developing students' sports skills. Key responsibilities include creating annual sports plans, ensuring facility readiness, and preparing reports on activities and competitions.
Since sports are important for physical health, Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University signed a cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Sports, granting access to all sports facilities for ten years. The ministry will upgrade these facilities to high engineering standards, ensuring university teams benefit during renovations. This partnership strengthens the sports sector, expands access to modern facilities, and enhances national and international sports excellence.
