Second: Academic Field: The department has updated and modified the Bachelor's study plan and prepared a Master's study plan. Following are the details:

Preparing the study plan of the Master's program in Physics and starting preparations to receive the first class of male and female students at the beginning of the academic year 1437/1438 AH:

An assigned committee of faculty members in the department has prepared a study plan for the Master's program in Physics following The Unified Bylaws of Postgraduate Studies in Saudi Universities, complying with the international standards of study plans for higher studies programs, and competing with current programs in Saudi Universities. The plan was approved by the Department Council, College Council, and Plans and Curriculum Committee after being refereed by international and local referees with academic and practical experience in this field. Then, it was submitted to the University Rectorate to complete the required procedures.

H.E. Professor Fawzan Al-Fawzan, Acting Rector, received Dr. Muhammad Babtain, Dean of the College of Science, and a number of faculty members of the Physics Department on 12/7/1436 AH for the preparation of launching this program, where he was shown the mission and objectives of the program and the ongoing preparations to start it. H.E. commended the program and the exerted efforts to implement it and directed them to complete the official procedures to launch it and admit students. Development of the Study Plan of Bachelor Program in Physics

Efforts have been paid over the last year to develop the study plan of Bachelor program in Physics in compliance with international standards of academic programs, in order to raise competence of alumni of the Department. A committee consisting of a group of faculty members of the Department was created to achieve this goal. The Committee has studied and compared the Bachelor study plan program with comparable plans in other local, regional, and international universities. In light of this comparison, the Committee has modified the plan and some of its items to cope with developments in various branches of Physics and comply with local and international standards. Then, the assigned Committee has submitted the modified plan to the Department Council which approved it after applying extra modifications then submitting it to the Plans and Curriculum Committee within the College. Finally, it was approved by the College Council and submitted to the University Rectorate to complete the procedures of its implementation at the beginning of the academic year 1437/1438 AH.
